Zetech University proudly participated in the ACCESS 2.0 Business Innovation Challenge held at the Marvel Hotel in Embu from 19th-20th October 2025. The event, themed “Innovate for Impact: Scaling Kenyan MSMEs through SDG 9”, brought together student innovators from 10 universities to co-create impactful solutions for Kenya’s micro, small, and medium enterprises.
Representing Zetech University, the team presented SafeMile, a transport-safety innovation designed to enhance commuter safety through real-time data, analytics, and rapid incident alerts. SafeMile impressed both mentors and judges, earning the 1st Runner-Up position—a testament to our students’ creativity, technical skill, and dedication to solving real-world challenges.
Throughout the week-long bootcamp, our team engaged in design thinking workshops, mentorship sessions, and business modeling clinics led by top academics and industry experts. They refined their project, built viable business models, and networked with key stakeholders from organisations such as KEPSA, KAM, and MSEA.
Zetech University extends heartfelt appreciation to the ACCESS 2.0 programme, and particularly to the Head of Research, Ms. Esther Mwangi, for her constant support and mentorship. Her guidance played a vital role in our students’ success.
This achievement reinforces Zetech University’s commitment to fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and meaningful industry collaboration. As we move forward, our SafeMile team is gearing up to pilot their solution with transport partners, turning their idea into a tangible safety innovation for Kenya’s transport sector.
Innovation lives here — and we are just getting started. #InventingTheFuture
