Zetech University, alongside 10 other universities, has received recognition for championing Student-Led Innovation Clubs (SLICs). The University Research and Innovation Club has been playing a critical role in fostering creativity, problem-solving, and entrepreneurship among students.
The Kenya National Innovation Agency (KeNIA) CEO applauded the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Njenga Munene, for embedding student innovation clubs in their institutions. Zetech University was selected as one of the institutions to implement KeNIA’s newly launched SLICs initiative, spearheaded by the Kenya National Innovation Agency (KeNIA).
This national programme offers Zetech students access to innovative learning opportunities and enables students to organize hackathons and innovation challenges, transforming ideas into viable startup ventures.
The pilot phase will run over the next 3 - 6 months, with Zetech University among the universities implementing the programme. This collective effort highlights the University’s place among leading institutions committed to strengthening student innovation and entrepreneurship.
