Zetech University reaffirmed its status as a center for innovation and entrepreneurship during the recently concluded Ideas Festival 2025, which took place at Technology Park Mang’u Campus. The event culminated in an inspiring display of creativity and impact-driven innovation, with three exceptional projects receiving top honors.
Brian Mtana, an innovator and student at Zetech University, was named the overall winner for his groundbreaking project, Tugawe Feedback—an AI-driven platform aimed at revolutionizing the collection and analysis of customer feedback in Kenya’s hospitality sector. His innovation was commended for its strong practical application, scalability potential, and its capacity to significantly improve service delivery within the industry.
Following closely was first runner-up Saadia Essa, who captivated the audience with her Job Matching Resume Tool, an intelligent solution that utilizes advanced algorithms to connect job seekers with positions that align with their strengths and aspirations.
Ian Cheruiyot claimed the second runner-up position with his innovative Lunar Edge Software Company (Smart Gate), a multi-layered access control system designed to enhance Kenya’s Unique Infrastructure. These remarkable ideas not only showcase the creativity and talent of Zetech University students but also resonate with the university’s mission of preparing graduates who are ready to drive meaningful change.
In addition to the top three winners, the Ideas Festival 2025 also showcased a range of outstanding innovations that received special recognition from the judges for their creativity, relevance, and transformative potential. Among these was Block Creative, a blockchain-based platform designed to empower digital creatives by protecting intellectual property and facilitating content monetization, and Krypton BaitBox, an eco-friendly pest control solution that addresses environmental and health issues through innovative design.
Other notable projects included Bluhadir, Bags N’ Bundles, and the Chama Management System. These concepts highlight the level of innovation present at Zetech University and demonstrate the institution’s commitment to cultivating students who are eager to develop solutions that have a tangible impact on the world.
