On July 10th, 2025, Zetech University hosted a forward-thinking workshop themed “Demystifying AI, ML & Data Science: From Core Concepts to Building with LLMs.” This event, held at the Ruiru Campus Auditorium, drew in tech-savvy students, educators, and aspiring software developers eager to delve into the vibrant intersection of machine intelligence and practical applications.
The workshop unveiled the complexities of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Data Science, providing not only theoretical insights but also practical experience with advanced tools such as Microsoft’s Azure AI Foundry and GitHub models.
Bethany Jepchumba, Microsoft AI Cloud Advocate, presented an engaging keynote on Large Language Models (LLMs). She illustrated how contemporary AI agents can be improved through retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG), prompt engineering, and multi‑step task orchestration.
Irving Amukasa, Co‑founder of Sophie Bot and an Android Engineer, led participants in constructing and refining transformer models with open‑source tools, simplifying the intricacies of AI development pipelines.
